Distrito Pinguinos
Que tal, amigos?
This week has been sooooo good!! I am learning to love the monotonous missionary schedule. We get up at 6:30 every morning, get ready for the day, plan out our day (even though it's already planned for us lol), eat breakfast, classes, teach, study, lunch, gym time, more classes, study, dinner, even more classes, and finally personal time at 9, then sleepy time at 10:30. Let's just say that I sleep very well at night (even though our beds feel like rocks) because it's so busy. Not even the sirens or mariachi music can wake me up!
My district is probably the best thing about being here at the CCM. There's 4 sets of elders and 2 sets of sisters. They are literally some of the funniest people I know! The name of this email is our nickname for our district because randomly one day someone said me gusta pinguinos, and ever since, everyone is basically obsessed with pinguinos, which are kind of a mexican version of ding dongs.
So you're probably wondering about gym time and what I do during that. Well, I'll tell you! My district loves to play tornado (or knockout, thunder, speed, or whatever you call it). It's so ridiculously fun cuz we play the revenge version and so it's a never ending game. We also dragged other districts into it too and they like it, but our district always ends up being in till the end... probably cuz we're just the best at basketball or something......
Spiritual thought! This week, I had some amazing experiences!! I felt very impressed to share this one with you all today.
A few days ago, we were in a meeting about how the Book of Mormon is the key to conversion. I felt the spirit so strongly, confirming to me that it is true. If you can get someone to read that Book they will know of a surety that it is true. THE BOOK OF MORMON CHANGES LIVES. It has changed mine forever. Studying it these past few weeks has quite literally changed me for the better, and my conversion is deeper than it ever has been. I want to share one of my favorite scriptures with you all, as an invitation:
"And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved." Omni 1:26
I invite you all to READ THE BOOK OF MORMON, no matter who you are, what your circumstances are, why you believe you shouldn't read it, or despite whatever is holding you back. I KNOW THAT THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE, and you WILL if you read it. That is my promise to you, as a representative of La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, that if you will just take the time to read even one verse, you will be filled with the fire of the Holy Ghost and God will reveal his truth of it unto you. You can trust me because I'm a missionary and missionaries can't lie ;)
